The Black Bryony family
This family, closely related to the Liliaceae, includes the Yam in its worldwide distribution but is represented by only one species in the UK - Tamus communis or Black Bryony.
Black Bryony is a confusing member of our UK flora as it is similar (very superficially) to White Bryony - a member of the Curcurbitaceae.
(I am not sure whether the family is universally dioecious, certainly many species, including Black Bryony, are.)
