Agavaceae

The Centuryplant family
This family, closely related to the Liliaceae, is important worldwide but has no UK native species. There are several popular introductions, however, in horticulture and many of these appear happy to establish in the wild.
The family is characterised by rosettes of tough leaves, often with threatening spines (not in Phormium - New Zealand Flax).
